Out of high school
Thursday, May 13 2010
Site updates soon to come. Project page should be updated with my RPG project, and some art should be going up soon. I have a few art requests that I need to work on, as well as get back to work on the RPG.

Hopefully I'll get a bit done this summer before I need to drop everything and prepare/leave for college. It's going to be fun.

EDIT: Art has been added, though things in that section have gotten a bit full. It's too late in the day to do much about it at the moment, but I'll get to fixing that all up soon. The Links section has been updated with a few new links. The About section has also been updated slightly, and three links to other personal pages have been added (DeviantArt, YouTube, and Steam). As for the project in development, that's on my laptop, and I'm not going to drag it out since I'm a bit tired. It will be updated soon, I promise.
College over, high school soon to follow
Saturday, May 8 2010
I've been working on wuite a bit recently for school, but soon I'll have some time to do other work, now that I'm almost out. I can't still do much right now though, because I'm working on my Drawing and Painting final. I've done a little bit of programming recently, and I'm sure to get back to it soon, as I've been coming up with more to do/add.

I know the site hasn't been updated in forever either, I've both been neglecting it, and I haven't really thought of too much to add. Soon though, I'll have some time to finally work on it. For example, the Roguelike is completely dead and has been replaced by a newer RPG-esque project, and I have a bit in the way of photography and art to add. No music, though, I haven't been able to come up with much of anything since Hydra.
Minecraft Level Viewer
Sunday, February 28 2010
So my level viewer has been 'finished' for a short while now. It definitely doesn't display everything properly, or quickly, for that matter, but that has to do with the way I've set things up, not really with opengl. It works properly though, as a viewer, and that was my goal.

The controls are awful, mind you, and it's really quite useless, so I'm not going to release it out to everyone else. If I can get some other concepts down though, I might just rework this around to be an editor (and speed it up, now that I know what I did wrong.) But really, I need to move on to something more useful, project wise.

I've made a bit of progress when it comes to opengl and learning how things display and such. Maybe, if I come up with some game concept idea(s), I'll be able to actually program something worthwhile.
Life > Programming
Sunday, February 7 2010
Unfortunately things like high school kind of get in the way of doing important/useful things. College is much more challenging this semester, with Network Fundamentals, Pc Systems Troubleshooting, and IT Project Tools being my three classes. It's fun though, and I'm definitely not bored. Also, I'm now doing a lot more homework, and a lot less classwork when it comes to those classes. But enough about that.

So I've been working on a Minecraft level editor. Things are going ok with it, the way I've implemented OpenGl is most likely horribly wrong, and it does a lot of needless calculations that *should* be able to be fixed later. I've actually had to rip code from my old box displaying program, and trust me, that was fun decoding. This is a real goal and I'm really working on this... No more giving up, like I've done with these other projects.
Looks like the year is almost through

And I've got nothing to say for it.

Well, not much anyhow. My drawing has improved somewhat, and so has my music, but I haven't concentrated enough on what I really want to do, and that's programming. I've passed my Operating Systems, Intro to Programming, and Web Design courses (surprise surprise) and with some motivation, and new (refreshed) knowledge, I am going to try and take on some (most likely impossible) programming tasks.

First off, I have started to work a little on a Roguelike. This is really testing the way I design and plan my code, as, with what I've done so far, a little wrong planning can ruin the whole final product. I have also had a friend ask to work on some music based game of sorts. I still only have limited experience with OpenGl and SDL, but I guess with other people working with me I'll be able to advance as needed.

As for the sidescroller, I don't know. I haven't worked any on it, I don't really want to work by myself on it, I'm just going to not worry about it until I learn more about collision detection and the like.
Well, It's about time something happened

Unfortunately, I still haven't gotten around to making the project pages. I did manage to throw together a Links page though. Otherwise, I've made a great deal of progress on my sidescrolling engine, such as setting up a system and a (semi)PROPER data structure. I also have done a slight bit of art. Along with the art, I've added (read: hacked) in a system for 'blocking' thumbnails and previews of images that might not be for everyone. You must go to the art page first, where the download link and the description will be displayed for you.

As for everything else that's going on, I suppose I haven't been doing much. I've gotten most of my long term, and quite a bit of my short term school/college work done, and am pretty much able to concentrate on programming. And that's ABLE, kids, not that I've really gotten around to concentrating on it at all. I do plan on looking into working some on the project pages right now, though, since I do have the time and site progress is on my mind.
Just a small update
Wednesday, September 23 2009
A few projects down, so I'm taking a moment to add a thing or two. I have edited the comment system a slight bit to allow email hiding/showing. This is merely for privacy issues/concerns. Though, as it always has been, the email field is not required. However, if people still wish to give me their email when they comment, they can. They just don't have to let everyone else see it too.

I've also been taking some extra time within my college classes to rework my old sidescroller engine. Now that I've learned a bit in the ways of data structures and other similarily useful concepts, I can start molding it into some sort of game, perhaps. I still know it's far from being anything interesting, but at least I am making some progress.

With this said and done, I really have incentive to put together the project pages. Procrastination, coupled with my Concepts of Operating Systems report is kind of getting in the way of productivity.
I'm Drowning
Saturday, September 19 2009
I haven't had much time at all to concentrate on the last few pages of the site. I have a college acceptance essay to write, a 7 page research paper to write, a large english paper to write, a humongous art project, and many smaller school assignments that need doing.
There you go guys
Sunday, September 13 2009
The art page is now complete. I've added some photographs to it, in comparison to the old site. Each artwork can have comments as well, just like music and news posts. Finally...

Next up, though, are either the project pages, which will take more coding, or the about and links pages, which will be really simple.
One down, more to go
Saturday, September 12 2009
Well, I took a little time today and fixed up the music page a bit. It's no longer a boring table of links. Each song has its own creation time, play length, and description displayed under its name. Oh did I mention that you can now comment on each individual song? My art page is next because it should be fairly simple. I think my major problem is going to be the project pages, since they need to be fairly dynamic, as they will cover all sorts of projects regardless of the type/language.

As an added bonus I've also done a little bit of work to come up with a Recent Activities panel for the side bar. This should make it easier for those who just pop onto the site to see what's been changed. This should also help me locate where new comments have been placed so that they can be more easily monitored.
